"Positive experience"

About: Aberdeen Royal Infirmary / Acute Short Stay Medicine Aberdeen Royal Infirmary / Drug and Alcohol Care Team

(as a service user),

A while ago I ended up in hospital after a lengthy rough period in my life. I was admitted to ward 103 and during this time I had some lovely staff involved in my care.

Staff nurse Louise was always helpful and nothing ever seemed a bother to her. I also had specialist alcohol and drug nurses Anne and Joan, during my stay they spent time with me and helped me see that I could make life better.

I was referred to community support and happy to say my life is turning around. I hope these wonderful nurses see this and know I am so thankful for them. I went into hospital hopeless and desperate and left feeling like I finally had hope.

Thank you to the specialist nurses, you were so kind and have made such a difference to my life now with the support I have access to.

Thank-you for taking the time to post about your experience on Care Opinion. I'm delighted to see that your experience was so positive and that the nurses in Ward 103 were helpful and supported you to get the help you needed. I will ensure that they read this story as I know it will mean a lot to them to see how much they've been able to help you. I hope you continue to recover.

Best wishes,

Dear leocq67,

Firstly I would like to apologise for the delay in my response. I have just been added to Care Opinion to respond to feedback in relation to the Drug and Alcohol Care Team.

Thank you so much for your positive feedback relating to your recent hospital admission and contact with the Drug and Alcohol Care Team. I am pleased to hear that the team showed you kindness, gave you hope and made a positive difference to your life.
