"Great patient care provided"

About: Arbroath Infirmary / Minor Injuries

(as the patient),

Haven’t been well for a few days - called NHS 111, gave my symptoms and was asked can you make it through to Arbroath MIU. Got the chance for an appointment in an hour's time. Wow that was quick! The NHS team there were amazing.

Dr Roberts did a full check on me, she was very kind, polite, and very thorough in her examination. Called on a colleague to confirm her initial thoughts by having a 2nd opinion.  Gave great advice and even checked online to  see if there were any pharmacies closer to where I live open.  She called them too to make sure they were open.

Thank you to Rhianann & her team for the excellent patient care, kindness and care shown to me.

Husband drove back to Arbroath to collect my prescription - Chemist didn’t open 1pm.  Chemist didn’t have the meds I need. I think  every town should have at least one Doctor’s office /minor injuries open and at lease one chemist/pharmacy too that people can use over the holiday period.

Dear, Scottienothottie,

Thank you for taking the time to share your story on care opinion. All feedback is much appreciated and helps us to make improvements to our service.

I am sorry to hear you were feeling poorly over the holiday period. I hope you are on the mend and feeling better. We are delighted to hear your journey was quick and seamless from your initial call to NHS 24 to being appointed to the Minor Injuries Unit (MIU) for assessment.

Rhianne is an excellent nurse and has worked within the MIU service for a number of years. It is very reassuring to know you were treated professionally, with kindness and overall felt reassured. I will be sure to pass on your lovely comments to Rhianne and the rest of the nursing staff.

That's a pity the chemist did not stock the medication you required, I hope you were able to collect it without any problems the following day.

Thanks again for sharing your story.

Kind regards

Katy Cook ( Senior Staff Nurse, Arbroath MIU, NHS Tayside)
