(as a service user),

Oh my goodness I have been meaning to write this message for months! Typical postpartum mum who takes weeks to get back to texts, same goes for this thank you message.

I needed to and wanted to thank every medical staff member who kept my daughter and I safe and supported during my pregnancy and postpartum.

My pregnancy was so scary and worrying. I became a bit of a regular on the maternity assessment ward this year. I completely love every single one of the midwives who took care of me there, they are angels and the most amazing people.

To Maternity Assessment thank you so much for putting up with me and my many phone calls and stays on your ward. You made me feel safe and validated through what was a worrying and scary pregnancy.

To Carlotta, Wow you are amazing and a complete star. Thank you for making me laugh and always managing to put a smile on my face. You are so special, your kindness, your sense of humour and warm energy is contagious! I'm so grateful you were there for me and my family you made me feel safe and validated in a vulnerable pregnancy.

I'm so glad you got to meet baby too!

To Maternity Assessment (sorry if I've forgotten anyone!!) Thank you so much Carlotta, Laura, Tracy, Steph, Kate, Sophie, Sharon, Emma, Dr Kate, Dr Gio, Dr Elo, and Dr Boyd.

To Steph, thank you so much for taking care of me and Violet. For making me laugh and for all your reassurance during my induction and for making me feel safe, comfortable and validated. You are an amazing midwife!!

To everyone in the maternity ward thank you so much for keeping my baby and I safe. To Steph, Nikki, Amelia, Zoe, Lisa, Nicole, Heather, Lynn, Melati, Julie, Karen, Fiona, Claire, Dr Anam, Elle, Alana, Zoe, Robyn, Rachel, Laura-Elle, Jeana Arnott and Roslyn.

To Steph, Nikki, Amelia, Lynn, Heather, Melati and Julie thank you so much for everything you did during my induction and labour. You were incredibly supportive, respectful, you made me feel safe when I was so vulnerable and you advocated for me. To Melati you are going to be an amazing Midwife I was honored that you were there during my labour you were the voice that kept me going and feel secure during a very scary/painful labour and you advocated for me. Thank you so much for everything you did Melati ❤️

To Julie you weren't there during my labour but you were there right after and you were honestly the funniest and perfect person to have been there for me after delivery. You have so much humour and you made me feel so at peace and happy after an exhausting couple of days.

Your funny, playful energy was contagious and brought a huge smile to my face.

To Claire, you are honestly such a bright star of maternity at the Vic. I was so lucky you got to be there for both my children. You are an amazing advocate, role model and your kindness is inspiring. Thank you Claire.

I'm sorry if I've forgotten anyone. I can't thank the maternity wards enough they are amazing and I feel so grateful that I had my pregnancy and labour at Victoria Hospital.

Thank you for everything,

Dear Hope09

Oh my goodness I have been meaning to write this message for months! Typical postpartum mum who takes weeks to get back to texts, same goes for this thank you message.

My name is Siobhan McIlroy and I am the Head of Patient Experience. NHS Fife welcomes all feedback, so thank you for taking the time to post on Care Opinion. I am sorry for the delay in you receiving a response.

Firstly congratulations on the birth of your new baby!

I am sorry that your pregnancy was a scary and worrying time for you. However I am pleased you felt you and your baby were well cared for and safe during your regular visits to the assessment ward and that you felt listened too and validated. I am sure the team, especially the ones you specifically mention (very kind of you, and you have a great memory!) will all be delighted with your feedback and to know they made such a difference.

I hope you and your family are all well, and again thank you for sharing your story and wonderful experience, best wishes and take care, Siobhan
