I called triage the week before Christmas after my waters broke and was given advice and reassurance from the midwife I spoke to. She was helpful and friendly during the call. I was advised to attend triage 12 hours later.
I arrived at the hospital around 6:30am and was seen quickly in triage. The midwife there was friendly and after being checked moved me round to another room to allow things to progress. The midwife who dealt with me there was also very friendly and offered me reassurance when I was struggling.
I was then moved round to the labour ward and was allocated Dawn as my midwife. Dawn was absolutely amazing. She was kind, caring and compassionate throughout my labour and birth of my daughter and offered me reassurance and encouragement when I needed it. She has such a lovely manner and I could see how passionate she is about her work. She was professional throughout and I felt we were able to establish a good rapport.
After the shift handover I was then allocated Sharon who was also absolutely amazing. Again, the care she provided me was with genuine care, kindness and compassion. She made me feel comfortable and again we were able to build a good rapport. Both Dawn and Sharon provided me with person centred care and made sure that they could accommodate my preferences as much as possible. They knew about hypnobirthing and allowed me to have the labour and birth I had wished for.
They made my labour and birth experience another positive one and I can't thank them enough.
"They made my birthing experience a positive one"
