"The care on ward 32 has boosted my spirits"

About: Royal Alexandra Hospital / Gynaecology (Ward 32)

(as the patient),

I had a really horrific time and complications following a termination 3 weeks ago.

Now, I have come through A&E and gone to ward 32 Gynaecology. The care I have received here on both the nightshift and the dayshift has been nothing short of incredible. Despite being completely run off their feet, all of the staff can’t do enough for you from the HCAs, to the nurses to the lovely doctors Joe & Consultant Alison. It’s been a really traumatic and painful time for me both mentally and physically but the banter with the staff and their high level of care has dramatically boosted my spirits.

I would like to make a special shout out to my Nurse Karen - you are absolutely amazing! One of, If not the loveliest nurse I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting. You put me at ease right away and thoroughly talked me through my different procedure options, ensuring I was 100% with my choice. You are a star and a credit to the nursing team here.

Jinty - such a kind and funny HCA, you chatting away really ease my anxiety through my procedure and I couldn’t appreciate it more.

Thank you all so much for the care you have provided me.

Dear filingkw65

Thank you so much for finding the time to offer feedback during a very difficult and emotional time for you.

Our doctor Joe and consultant Dr Platten will be delighted you have felt well cared for - along with our HCSW and nurses.

Karen will be proud to think she is a credit to the team and a star; Jinty is exceptionally good at using humour and chat to help relive anxiety - so I am glad this worked.

I will pass all of this on to the team.

It is good to hear you felt 100% in control of your decision making.

I hope you are recovering well - emotionally and physically.

Kind regards,

Nikki Harvey

Interim Lead Nurse Gynaecology/ACS
