"Out of Hours GP"

About: Crosshouse Hospital / Ayrshire Doctor on Call (ADOC) NHS 24 / NHS 24 (111 service)

(as a relative),

My sister was hallucinating last night and very unwell. This morning she was very sick, shivery and had sore muscles. I was very worried about her as we were concerned her drink may have been spiked the previous night.

I called 111. We had a lovely operator who kept checking in as she tried to get a nurse on the line. We were advised to go to Out of Hours GP and were told the service was very busy so may be over 4 hours until we got a call for an appointment.

Just one hour later we got a call from a doctor who spoke to my sister and made us an appointment for two hours following the call.

I drove her to the Out of Hours GP and the doctor she saw was very reassuring and diagnosed her with a UTI. He gave her anti sickness tablets and antibiotics.

The whole experience was very good, communication was great and the service was as quick as can possibly be expected at this time of year! I am so grateful to all the staff that helped today!
