"Treated with dignity & respect and most importantly kindness."

About: University Hospital Hairmyres / Emergency Department University Hospital Hairmyres / Medical Assessment Unit University Hospital Hairmyres / Medical/Gastroenterology (Ward 11)

(as the patient),

I was recently admitted to Hairmyers hospital due to becoming unwell.

From being triaged and seen in the emergency department to then being admitted to ward 2 then on to ward 11.  All staff that cared for me treated me with dignity and respect and most importantly kindness.

I want to highlight 2 staff that where there for me during the night when I was feeling poorly and they were Annie and Angel. The pressures of the NHS and the nursing staff are huge and I was treated with kindness by both these nurses, this certainly made my stay and care more comfortable.

All in all every member of staff that I came into contact with where lovely. Kindness goes a long way and this is something I will remember and appreciate. Thank you Hairmyers.

Dear Mazza780

Thank you for taking g the time to give such lovely feedback following your recent admission. I am pleased to read that you were treated with respect and kindness throughout your stay in University Hospital Hairmyres.

Your comments will be widely shared with the teams and of course Annie and Angel. They will be delighted to know they made you feel more comfortable.

You are right, the NHS is under significant pressure, however kindness is something that anyone can give and you have demonstrated that by your feedback.

Thank you

I hope that you are recovering well

Kind regards

Lise
