"Well and truly the best nurse I have ever come across"

Nurse Bridget on Acorn ward.

This nurse could not have done anymore for myself or my little boy. She went above and beyond, ensuring that I understood everything that was happening. She always made sure I had everything I needed and that my son was well looked after.

She noticed that my son had gone down hill, and alerted the doctors. Had she not had picked up on this, we may not have found out he had pneumonia.

The difference in my son from the start of her shift, to the end of her shift was massive.

She is well and truly the best nurse I have ever come across. A massive asset to Musgrove Park Hospital.

Thank you so much Bridget, I will never forget your kindness. You truly are amazing at what you do. You made a difficult time, a better one.

The title of your feedback immediately caught my eye! Having worked extensively with Bridget both on and off the paediatric unit, I can absolutely understand why you titled your feedback as you did.

Bridget is an absolute asset to our team, she is so kind, so caring and has such immense attention to detail - we are so proud that she is our colleague. I know firsthand how she always goes above and beyond caring for babies, children and their families. These strengths shine through in her everyday care and support her recognition of when children may change in their clinical conditions, just as she did for your little boy, alerting her nursing and medical colleagues.

I shall absolutely ensure that your feedback is shared not only with Bridget personally but also with our wider team - including our Matron and Chief Nurse for our Trust.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience and feedback and I am so pleased to hear that your little boy has significantly improved.

Thank you for your response. She truly made a very difficult time so very bearable. She couldn't do enough for me, my family and my little boy. She was so helpful when I asked questions about my other son, and honestly is the kindest lady I've come across.

I cannot express into words how much she touched me and my family. All the nurses on the ward were excellent. But Bridget truly went above and beyond anything I'd ever expect. My older son was brought into a&e last night, and Bridget offered to sit with my youngest son, past her shift so I could go and be with him. (I told her that it was okay and she needed to go home as she'd been working all day!) But kindness like that, you rarely come across.

Thank you for everything you have done Bridget. Your kindness, will never be forgotten by myself or my family. You'll hold a special place in our hearts.
