My elderly uncle had a diagnostic appointment at the Macular Clinic in September 2023 with Mr McCanney.
Firstly I was delighted to get a Saturday appointment as it meant I didn't have to take any leave from work.
And I was pleased the appointment was late morning as our journey takes bout 70min and uncle needs a bit of assistance in the mornings.
Mr McCanney was very thorough in his assessment. And in fact he ordered an additional scan as he believed he had spotted a bleed that was either recent or had been missed by the optician who had made the referral.
We were impressed by the professionalism and thoroughness of the entire team. My uncle has mobility issues and hearing impairments, however this was no problem to all the personnel we encountered.
Thanks to Mr McCanney and his team for sharing their expertise so effectively.
Only complaint I have is finding the Clinic as the hospital signage in the car parks is not replicated on the appointment letter or indeed the signage in the hospital is also not consistent with the clinic name on the appointment letter.
A map on the back of the letter would be great. Showing which door to enter would be extra helpful.
