"The level of care I received was exceptional"

About: Victoria Hospital / Endoscopy

(as the patient),

I recently had a colonoscopy. I was very nervous about this procedure.  From the moment I entered the Day Care Unit I was met by friendly and caring nurses who talked me through the procedure and made me feel quite safe.

The staff who carried out my colonoscopy -  Vivienne, Scott and Betty - were brilliant, talking to me, reassuring me, always making sure I was as comfortable as I could be getting this procedure.  They were fantastic and a credit to the NHS.

I was transferred to a day bed to recover from sedation and again the nurses there were very caring and supportive.  From start to finish the level of care I received was exceptional and I am so appreciative of that.  Thanks again.

Dear Dot718,

Thank you for posting your story on Care Opinion about your procedure in Endoscopy.

It is lovely to rad that the nursing staff made you feel comfortable and reassured as you were very nervous. I shall share this with all the staff and those who you have mentioned, they will be delighted.

I hope you are recovering well at home.

Kind regards

Pauline
