"A high level of care and compassion"

About: University Hospital Hairmyres / Emergency Department

(as a relative),

Took my husband to UHH recently on advice of our GP practice as he was in acute pain with complications from an initial urine infection.

We were worried about how long he would need to wait to be seen. I have worked in nursing and have observed and heard horrendous issues regarding waiting times, poor service and lack of compassion.

But from the moment my husband arrived he was quickly assessed and treatment begun by the nursing and medical team who all demonstrated a high level of care and compassion.

For the first in a long time I can once again say I am so proud of NHS Lanarkshire.

Dear Anne P B,

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience of University Hospital Hairmyres on Care Opinion.

I am sorry to hear about your husband being poorly and having to attend hospital. However, I am delighted to read that your husband received a high standard of care as this is what we always strive for. I am sure the staff will be very pleased to read your kind feedback.

I hope you are both doing well and have a lovely Christmas when it comes!

Best wishes,

Morgan
