"Thyroid lobectomy at Stracathro, 5* experience"

About: General Surgery / Surgical Unit Radiology / CT Scans

(as a service user),

Last month I was admitted into the treatment centre at Stracathro for a thyroid lobectomy. Alastair was my surgeon. I can't praise every single member of staff that I encountered that day highly enough. From the nurses pre and post surgery, HCAs, ANP, anaesthetist, radiology team when I had to have an extra CT, surgical team and the lovely domestic who went to find my lift as they'd gone to the wrong door and couldn't find their way in to collect me!

I was looked after very well, nothing was too much and, as an NHS employee myself, I was truly grateful for the personal patient centred approach that was given all the way from start to finish. I was relieved when I was offered Stracathro for my surgery, much smaller and friendly unit. I wouldn't hesitate to go back, if I ever needed to, or encourage others to take up the offer. Thanks to all, keep up your good work

Dear RugbyGirl70,

Thanks for mentioning Radiology, and specifically CT scanning in this great post.

I am glad you have had such a positive experience in Stracathro and will ensure this post is shared amongst the team.

Kind Regards

Mike
