"They always ensured they cared for me with dignity and kindness"

About: Victoria Hospital / Colorectal Unit Victoria Hospital / Surgical High Dependency

(as a service user),

I attended hospital for elective colorectal surgery. I was looked after by the amazing Mr Manimaran who was throughly professional and a perfectionist throughout.

I then had to go to SHDU where I was looked after so well by a lovely team, particular thanks to Shannon who showed so much care and compassion and nothing was too much trouble. She went above and beyond to ensure I was comfortable throughout my time there.

I then moved to ward 44, I was cared for by an excellent team of staff who worked so well together. They showed patience and consideration and all really excelled in their roles, from the housekeeper to the domestic staff to the health care support workers and staff nurses. Special thanks to Chloe, Chris, Karen and Katy the staff who looked after me so well. Nothing was too much trouble and they always ensured they cared for me with dignity and kindness.

I was also so well looked after by the surgical ward team, particularly Anne-Marie and Kelsey and Jayne the ERAS nurse. Can’t thank you all enough, thank you again.

Thank you Kt86 for taking the time to tell us about your recent hospital admission and surgery. I hope you are recovering well at home. I have passed your kind words onto Jayne (ERAS nurse) who is part of the colorectal nursing team. Please remember that if you have concerns or questions you can still contact Jayne who will continue to support you.

Once again thank you for your kind words and best wishes for the coming year.
