"Five hours is not a slight delay"

About: Fairfield General Hospital / Accident and emergency Fairfield General Hospital / Cardiology Fairfield General Hospital / General medicine

(as the patient),

Got sent to Urgent Care from A&E after they said that all people who needed a X-ray were to go here. Didn’t get off to a good start  as was asked for my address and yet again they didn’t have my gp surgery right. This might explain why my heart scan results have been sent out wrong for the second time in a couple of months.

People had been waiting over 5 hours. A nurse came out claiming that they hadn’t forgot about anyone, but that there was a slight delay. Waiting time was approx 5 hrs. Five hours is not a slight delay, it’s not acceptable under any circumstances.

When patients questioned this they just kept saying we are very busy. Was told if it’s not urgent then go home and come back another day. Silly patients - thought it was called “urgent” care, but no care, yet again. Last time over 4 hours with a suspected heart attack. I find that this is not fit for purpose, and I’m awaiting a face to face meeting with the trust.
