I gave birth to my son 8 weeks ago at Aberdeen maternity hospital and wanted to say what a positive experience it was.
Living in Moray we were apprehensive due to stories about maternity services in the area. However throughout the pregnancy and birth, we were treated with nothing but care and professionalism.
My midwife Karen and the team in Elgin were fantastic and were very supportive with any concerns or issues we had.
I’d also like to thank midwives Jenna and Eilish in Aberdeen who made the birth experience feel calm and controlled despite some complications. Also Nid who took the time to help us with changing and feeding the next day despite how busy she was.
The opportunity to then return to Dr Gray’s for feeding support for a night was invaluable and without that support I believe my early breast feeding experience would not have been so successful.
I’m unable to remember the names of all the staff who helped us over the time but we felt so well looked after. Thank you for doing what you do and we’re very grateful to everyone who helped with the safe arrival of our boy.
