Following a recent GP app , I was referred up to the Dermatology unit at the RAH Hospital , Paisley, to have a rodent ulcer removed from underneath my eye.
From the beginning of my app until just over ran hour later when I left with my ulcer removed and stitches in, I was well looked after from Dr Robertson, who talked me through every step she was doing, to the nurse Shona who held my hand during the procedure, to the trainee doctor who was observing, and the other nurses Alex and the team that I met during the time there.
I felt nothing was a bother and they were so patient and kind. I have been attending the dermatology since I was 15 years of age with guttate psoriasis, I am now in my 50s . Anyone who who understands what living with psoriasis is like will tell u it sometimes makes you feel anxious and uncomfortable and I can honestly say when I'm ever in the dermatology unit I am put at ease and they are all so friendly and helpful.
Sometimes we don't take the time to fully take in people around us we are quick to say my app was 20 minutes ago and I'm still waiting to be seen. Could be that the person having a biopsy before you was anxious and it has taken longer than expected.
When I asked the doctor after my procedure how many biopsies she had that day , she answered a few , if I run late so be it , I just cut my lunch short. I hope most people have the same experience as me whatever NHS hospital they go to . Many thanks to the doctors and nurses for my treatment yesterday and in previous years.
