"Clinic had ended before my appointment time"

About: Omagh Primary Care Complex / Outpatients

(as the patient),

I booked to have my seasonal flu and covid vaccines at Omagh Hospital Primary Care Complex, WHSCT this afternoon. This appointment was booked via the COVID-19 vaccine portal and received confirmation of this appointment via text message.  This appointment was confirmed for 4.15 pm.

I arrived for my appointment at 4pm however there was no one available in the outpatient department to administer the vaccine. I spoke with the outpatient department manager who advised that vaccine clinic had been running, however clinic had ended.

"My name is Norma Ross and I am clinical Lead with Vaccination Team.

Firstly, I want to thank you for taking the time to submit your story and secondly for giving me the opportunity to respond which I will try my best to do.

It is great to hear you booked your vaccines but unfortunately were unable to receive these on the day. Going on the information within your story and not your specific details I can only assume perhaps an administrative error whereby the appointment list did not match up to the appointments booked on the system and for that I can only apologise for the inconvenience caused. I do hope you were able to reschedule a further appointment for the vaccines. If you would like me to investigate your appointment, I can be contacted on 07425635388
