"Very professional and very cheerful"

About: Jubilee Hospital / Minor Injuries Unit

(as a service user),

A huge thank you & praise to HCA Ellie at the Minor Injuries Unit. The unit was extremely busy, it is obviously that time of year with the bad weather. So my appointment was to see a health professional for a swab for my PEG.

Waiting in the waiting area - which was full - watching the staff coming & going, people having the odd murmur about the waiting time, even though those coming in were all told about the waiting time. Apologies given to every patient called for x-rays, examinations etc. Finally, Ellie called me!

Ellie introduced herself & confirmed what my appointment was for plus my details.  Ellie then very efficiently went about getting the swab done, once done a new dressing put on & let me know that it would  sent away etc, I said that the GI Nurse at ARI would be tracking it so no worries about getting the results.

Ellie was very professional and very cheerful, I didn't feel rushed or that she was rushed. Thank you, & I hope the rest of your shift went well.

'Thank you for your kind praise for Ellie at the Minor Injuries unit – I passed this feedback to her some time ago and should have got back to you sooner to let you know. Ellie was delighted she made a difference to your visit and it made her day knowing you had got in touch.

It was lovely for me, as Location Manager for Jubilee Hospital, to hear staff were doing their best to keep everyone updated about the wait. It is often longer than we’d like it to be – but we hope that by keeping people informed we can reduce some of the frustration this often causes. Thank you for being patient.
