The practice should instead improve access to appointments by making more appointments available and have a triage system in place to direct patients to the best service. It should also have all staff in the back office to lessen the queues at busy times. There should be a queue target of no more than three people in each queue waiting to be seen by reception. It should also advertise times during the day when it is less busy so people can targwet when they arrive for adviceor to make an appointment.
