"Allowing relatives to wait on ward"

About: Cannock Chase Hospital / General surgery Cannock Chase Hospital / Respiratory medicine

(as the patient),

Went into Cannock Chase for day minor procedure. Can’t fault the ward or staff, now this hospital is miles out for my wife and I to travel, on day of my appointment being changed I had to call to accept appointment so I said to them on the phone is my wife allowed to stay with me to save driving all the way back as she was sent home last time I was there. They said was it Covid times, I said yes, they then said it’s OK now she can stay with you!

Got to the ward after paying £6 for car park only to be told she couldn’t wait again. So I would say a good way to improve as per last time would be to be able for a relative to be able to wait on the ward with the patient, there is no harm at all ! Then when patient goes down to for procedure wait then in the cafe not on ward, otherwise this would be a great hospital
