I recently attended the Appliance Clinic room at Musgrave Park Hospital .
The staff were lovely, they were very attentive and helpful. However, the area I had to go through to get to my appointment was horrible. It was disgustingly dirty, empty drinks cans, sweet papers and used paper towels littered the floor. There was dust and dirt everywhere and the plaster is coming off the walls in areas of the freezing cold corridor.
The room that I was seen in is, in my opinion, unfit to be used for patients. It is a drab and dingy with dirty, water stained walls and very cold! I could not believe that in this day and age such an area is deemed acceptable for patients to be seen in.
I voiced my concerns to the staff present. They were understanding but I am aware that the staff cannot resolve the many problems involved. Hopefully, someone who can resolve the issues will see this and do something about it.
I have also attended other appointments in the Outpatients Department of the hospital and always found it clean, tidy and welcoming. One would have to ask why patients cannot be seen in the Outpatients area, not only is it clean and warm etc, it is also easier to access.
Finally I would like to say a big thank you to all the staff in Musgrave, I have always found them to be friendly and helpful and do a great job in these difficult times.
