"Some staff (thankfully not all) appear to not care."

About: Banbridge Health & Social Care Centre / Radiology Services (X-Ray)

(as a friend),

My friend, who I had given a lift for their appointment, was sent from their consultant to radiography (in the same building) for an x-ray.

At x-ray the two staff there were apparently more interested in talking to each other, than dealing with their patients. When they did take time to speak to my friend they advised that the request for x-ray wasn't through yet and told my friend that they could wait over an hour if they wanted, or go and get an x-ray in Armagh, as they were going on their lunch (around 12.20pm) and x-ray would then be closed until 1.45pm. They were in the same building as the consultant! Surely they could have phoned, or got up and walked to, the consultants office to get/confirm the x-ray details?

Some staff (thankfully not all) in Southern Trust appear to not care about patients.

Dear Denise1,

First of all can I thank you for taking the time to share your feedback on the visit of you and your friend to the x-ray department in Banbridge Health and Care Centre. The sharing of patient experiences, both positive and negative, is a vital tool to allow us to continuously improve our services.

As the Lead Radiographer for Daisy Hill and Banbridge x-ray I am very sorry to read that the standard of care your friend experienced fell well below what I would expect. I can understand why you would feel upset, therefore I have addressed the issue with my team and reminded them of the standards of care that is expected of them.

Unfortunately the issue of referrals not being received in a timely manner is one that we deal with on a regular basis and I will once again raise this with the consultants who work in Banbridge H&C Centre.

Please pass on my apologies to your friend and I hope that any future visits to our department will be a much more positive experience.

Kind Regards and Best Wishes,

Lee Feenan
