Over the last several years my mother attended the haematology department for regular blood tests and blood transfusions.
Recently, due to mum being hard of hearing, I was the point of contact in discussing mum's appointments and how she was feeling to enable the team to make the right recommendations.
On a personal level I would like to thank Dr Bachh and his team, especially Lee, for their support to both mum and myself. Lee was most helpful in offering his support in assisting with mum's care and organising other departments needed to facilitate mum's treatment. I felt very reassured with his help that mum was receiving the best treatment.
More recently mum was deemed as lacking capacity and has now moved to a care home with early onset of dementia. Her care has now transferred to another hospital. Lee has always asked after my welfare too. It was a sad day when I rang the department, and Lee answered the call, to say that mum could be discharged from their care when mum's placement in the care home was made permanent in a different authority.
Thank you to everyone involved and keep up the good work.
