About: Gillan House Surgery

(as a service user),

I am in my seventies and was prescribed four items of medication some years ago. I order and collect my repeat prescriptions every two months. The system worked perfectly until quite recently when a new NHS ordering system was introduced.

Four days ago using the new format I ordered my prescription. Today I phoned my pharmacy to ensure they had received a signed off prescription from my GP. They had not. I tried to phone my GP but was told I was 17 in a queue . I held the line for 1 hour and 25 mins and the line went dead.

I tied again this time using a facility  to get a call back later.

No reply

How do I feel, disappointed. I spent much of the day trying to obtain a simple prescription and have almost run out of my medication.

There is obviously a problem with the IT System, but on the switchboard at Gillan House there are not enough phones or people answering.

I have no idea when I will get my medication. I feel the NHS is now failing in this area.
