"5* treatment"

About: North Devon District Hospital / Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery North Devon District Hospital / Orthodontics

(as the patient),

I received wonderful treatment. I had 3 teeth extracted by Alex. He was assisted by Sammy and Dianne. From the friendliness of Joe on reception to the kind, professional and reassuring treatment in the surgery the whole process went very smoothly. All sorted in less than an hour. When you are nervous, as I was, all of this is so important.

The big downside was the waiting time from being referred by my dentist to being seen. They first referred me approximately 3 years ago. After waiting patiently for nearly a year and hearing nothing I made enquiries. I was told my referral was not on the system. My dentist processed the referral again and I was finally assessed - nearly 11 months ago.

While I am incredibly grateful that we have an NHS, and that I have an NHS dentist, these waiting times are abysmal.

I know everything in the NHS is stretched to its limits, so please do not view this comment as a reflection of my view of the treatment I received. It was 5*.
