"I have made some lasting friends!"

About: The Centre for Brain Injury Rehabilitation

(as the patient),

I had a brain aneurysm which in turn led to a hemorrhagic stroke and I was taken to Ninewells where I had the bleed stopped, then to Edinburgh to have the aneurysm coiled. Then back to Ninewells and eventually to Royal Victoria where I spent 10 months having physio, speech and language, cognitive therapy etc! Eventually getting home last April!

I can honestly say that the staff at Victoria are incredible! And I have made some lasting friends!  My whole experience was made easier by the staff who not only looked after me but my family too! So I would like to take this chance to thank them all from the bottom of my heart! Lorraine, Hayley, Ellen, so many more too! They are all amazing and even though their jobs at times are very difficult!  Thank you! xxx

Dear Jo828,

Thank you for getting in touch to let us know about your experience of being a patient at the Centre for Brain Injury Rehabilitation (CBIR) at Royal Victoria Hospital and the impact that this has had on your life going forward. We are really glad to hear that you formed friendships that have continued since you left hospital. Thank you for your kind words about the staff team looking after you. It was a privilege to be able to do so. Your feedback will be shared with everyone that worked with you. It means a lot to the team that worked with you here and drives us to continue to deliver the best care for our patients. We always strive to put our patients at the centre of their journey and work towards goals that are important to them, and we are really pleased that you were able to achieve your goals and return home after your stay with us.

You worked incredibly hard with the team, and your determination to get better, alongside the support of your family will have played a huge part in your successful recovery journey. We wish you all the very best for the future
