My child had an appointment today at outpatients cardiology. The Dr we saw was rushed, rude and patronising. My child suffers from anxiety no consideration was given to this throughout the consultation.
We were asked questions about his past which should not have been asked in front of my child. They went on to have a scan of his heart the person doing it was teaching a student and went into so much detail and discussed in-front of my child, things that could be seen in different outcomes in patients with abnormalities,
Again no interaction with my child other than positioning him. Even this was done by just moving him not asking not explaining, no description of what was going to happen.
During his scan the doctor came in and asked if they’d seen anything in front of my child and then discussed another case then a second person entered the room while my child was lying being scanned and never knocked just walked in and discussed the next three patients.
This was not what I’d expect, no privacy, no asking if my child was ok, no interaction during scan just teaching the student, no consideration to my child’s privacy and no consideration to the fact he has anxiety.
