Approximately a month ago I attended the a&e with my older sister who had severe back pain, so bad she couldn't sit down.
After waiting a few hours a doctor appeared, looking fatigued, apologized and said there would be at least 5 hours wait, and also if you had to be admitted you could go to another hospital. After hearing this and in so much pain my sister decided to leave against my wishes.
Whilst waiting we also observed a long queue of ambulance staff with patients on trollies still waiting to be handed over. I thought that issue had been resolved, obviously not. I really was deeply concerned and upset about this, we're not right into winter yet, and it's gridlock.
My issue is no way about the staff, but is about the service and capacity that this hospital can't cope with.
