"Felt so safe in their care"

About: Northern Ireland Ambulance Service / Emergency ambulance response The Ulster Hospital / Emergency Department

(as a service user),

Recently a passer-by called an ambulance for me as I had suddenly taken unwell. Ken (yes, as in Barbie and Ken) and lovely Sean were the paramedics on that call and were so fantastic.

That morning was a huge shock, and blur for myself, I felt so safe and calm with both men who provided excellent care making me feel safe and as calm as could be. It was also an awkward place to bring their bag and stretcher too, nothing was a bother, so professional.

Asked to go to the ulster ED as my family were on holiday but my sister works close by. It wasn't a problem and they were wonderful!

Staff in ulster ED were amazing!! I took a further unknown seizure and from what I remember and my sister's recollection too, they were amazing in Resus, whilst comforting and were so compassionate with my younger sister too.

My recollection is a little hazy not realising how acutely unwell I was at the time, the news was a huge shock and the staff were fantastic at speaking with my younger sister at the time.

Huge thank you to NIAS and UHD!
