"Where is that department?"

About: County Hospital Louth Lincoln County Hospital

(as the patient),

I find, that once an appointment is made, the care received is excellent but, why oh why can't the NHS come up with a map/instructions of the location of where the department you need actually is?

A recent call to a department within Louth Hospital had the wrong telephone number and the map is more like a test than informative, no logic to the listing and the latter is certainly true of Lincoln as well.

This might seem a somewhat trivial complaint but it can be stressful when you really do not want to be late.

However, the care shown by the staff once you find the department(s) is excellent. Should you find your team is running a little late I suggest a game of Count The Laminating Pouches pinned to the walls, it can keep you busy for quite a while.

Hello Debbie

Forgive me but my comments are not in relation to a specific instance they are general observations.

I will give an example: in Google (other search engines are available) search for 'urology louth hospital'. I get a page giving me a short history and where all the services are geographically located, whereas what a patient really wants to know is how to get their place of appointment.

I don't need to know that Pilgrim Hospital has GYRUS TURP, where is the map for Louth Hospital? When you include 'map' in the search the first hit is https://www.ulh.nhs.uk/hospitals/county-hospital-louth/map/louth-hospital-site-you-are-here-v2/ which contains a 404 error "Sorry, that page could not be found".

Another result does return a link to another link that has a PDF with black text on a blue background, very difficult to read for those with failing eyesight.

Need a blood test? There are several published phone numbers for Louth on the website that do not work.

This doesn't just apply to Louth so please don't think I am picking on you. Simplify, a page for each hospital, similar format, a list of departments with applicable numbers and a map of how to find those departments. Of course, my requirements are that of a patient but that has to be the vast majority of those using the website surely?

Thank you.
