I was admitted to York Hospital Outpatients' Department recently via the ambulance service. I have Motor Neurone Disease and was having difficulty breathing, so telephoned 111 and was advised an ambulance was on its way.
The two paramedics arrived quickly; I was assessed and taken directly to York Hospital. There was a wait, which I was expecting and was then admitted to one of the clinical rooms off the waiting room.
Your staff were absolutely wonderful. They kept me informed and treated me with great care and kindness. I have difficulty speaking and both doctors and nurses I spoke to were patient and understanding.
I was kept in overnight and again your nursing staff went the extra mile for me, to find food I could easily swallow. In particular I would like to thank Ray, Jean, Jan and Edwin. Unfortunately I am unable to remember the Doctor and Registrar's names, but the whole experience was a very positive one.
I would be very pleased if you could pass my grateful thanks on to everyone who helped me. Thank you.
"Superb Care"
