I had an appointment in 6b hepatology in the RVH recently. I left ample time for car parking nonetheless when I arrived the hospital site was choc a bloc. Thankfully one of the security guards diverted traffic from the long queue into a half empty adjacent car park. This meant I was really early for my appointment so took my time getting to the department.
I arrived at 6b approx 25 minutes early and was greeted by a very friendly nurse who took me to check details, height and weight. I was expecting a long wait but was called 5 minutes early by the consultant Mr Braniff. I have to say Mr Braniff was the most compassionate and personable health professional I have ever met. He was in tune with my ongoing health issues and provided me with a full explanation of why I was called to the clinic. He was factual and very reassuring.
When I left to get blood taken this was done promptly, efficiently and with all due care and attention by support staff. The member of staff- Angela -was very competent at taking blood and was friendly and reassuring.
Overall my experience was exemplary and I was keen to share this feedback with staff.
"My experience was exemplary"
