"The fabulous team of Gyneacology Oncology"

My sincere appreciation goes out to the Gynaecology/Oncology team at the Princess Alexandra Suite at the Royal Cornwall Hospital for their exceptional care. From my first telephone booking to the postal delivery of information, the service was outstanding.

The meticulous attention to detail, such as providing clear instructions and reinforcing the importance of reading through information thoroughly, greatly contributed to easing my anxiety. I must commend the lovely nurse Chris, who not only exhibited professionalism but also exuded a remarkable level of friendliness and genuine care. Her clear instructions and calming demeanour made a significant difference, and I can't thank her enough.

The consultant, Alex , was exceptional. Her explanations were not only clear and concise, but she also went above and beyond to ensure that I understood the procedure before consenting. Alex was extremely thorough, I immediately trusted her and her suggestions. The entire team demonstrated a passion for their work, and I could sense that they felt proud to be working in the department.

Despite my initial nervousness, I was quickly put at ease by the team's warmth and preparation. The extra touches, such as the provision of a heat pack and warm water, made the experience more comfortable. There was no real pain during the procedure; it was only slightly uncomfortable at times when the procedure took place, but it was only for a short period of time, and the nurses supported me with breathing techniques and counting techniques. Observing the process on the screen fascinated me. My overall comfort was further enhanced by the consultant's gentleness and clarity throughout the consultation.

The support didn't end with the procedure; I was well taken care of afterwards. The team explained the next steps thoroughly. The Consultant Alex, gave clear potential side effects, the use of painkillers, and what to do with any side effects.. I was also explained extra self care and given some further self care information to take home to read, by Chris before I left. This level of comprehensive care left me feeling well-supported and genuinely cared for.

In summary, the Gynaecology and Oncology team at the Royal Cornwall surpassed my expectations. Their exceptional professionalism, warmth, and knowledge made a my experience much more manageable. I extend my sincere thanks to the entire team for their outstanding support and care. I really hope that this fabulous team could receive an award, because in all my life I have never been treated so well in a hospital, what an amazing hospital.
