Breda and Loretta were so caring and helpful; I was very impressed by how carefully they listened to each person individually. The schedule was very sympathetic to sufferers of long covid, in terms of pace and breaks allowed. I do get the impression that our cohort benefitted greatly from feedback provided by those who have gone before. The programme was full of helpful practical advice to help alleviate our condition. I found activity diaries very useful in identifying energy usage particularly with analysis and feedback from Breda/Loretta. I noticed an improvement in my health soon after taking this advice on board.
The combination of experts and fellow sufferers made me feel both heard and understood. In a world where we often have to explain our condition, it was so refreshing to be with others wo just "get us" and understand exactly where we are coming from.
There are really only two improvement I could suggest. Firstly it would be beneficial to distribute a list of topics to be covered each week do that at the very start of the programme everyone would have an idea what to expect. The second feedback item related to the way classes are managed. In our group we had a member who was prone to talking too much and going off on a tangent by focussing on irrelevant matters.
Needless to say, everyone needs to feel able to speak. The problem came when the contributions by this person monopolised the time and derailed the group discussion or presentation. Unfortunately while it might have felt good to get things off their chest, it was detrimental to the group as a whole for future classes, it would be helpful if facilitators felt empowered to step in and get things back on track.
