About: East Lothian Community Hospital / Maternity care

(as the patient),

I had a wonderful experience with the Lothian homebirth team. I saw the same midwife for all my antenatal appointments in my own home and I grew to know her and felt safe and able to talk to her about anything.

For the actual birth I had two other midwives (as my usual midwife was not on call that day). They were so kind and respectful of my wishes, I felt completely safe and cared for throughout the birth and came away having had such a positive experience with the birth of my baby. 

This is such a wonderful service, I really hope it continues to be supported and expanded.
