"Cold radiotherapy room"

I have attended Ninewells for a week of radio therapy, while most of my experience was kind, caring and respectful, there are two things I would like to say, the room the therapy was given to me in was so very cold, lying so still for 30 minutes with no clothes on in such a cold room in not a kind experience. Surely the hospital could provide a gown to fit people, the experience is upsetting enough without dealing with gowns not covering properly.Also, could someone please go around and take down out of date signs on the walls.

Dear Jenny Penny,

Thankyou so much for taking the time to feedback your experiences while attending for radiotherapy, my name is Damian, head of therapeutic radiography. It is lovely to hear that you found the staff kind and caring, I will ensure I feed this comments back to all the staff groups involved.

I am so sorry the temperature in our rooms was cold, we unfortunately do have some issues with our temperature regulation due to the infrastructure of our heating system and are trying our best to find a solution for this. We did have some issues with the whole department system in the last few weeks which we hope has been rectified but apologise that this did not help with your experience.

Due to the complexity of the machines we use, we have to try and keep the temperature down a little to ensure they work optimally but we do not want this to be at the cost of our patient comfort. To help this we do try and use gowns and I am really sorry these where not available for you, I will find out the reason and look to rectify this, thankyou for highlighting this issue.

Thankyou also for highlighting the signage and we have acted on your feedback to ensure our signs are up to date.
