I had my baby this August in Aberdeen maternity hospital.
I found the experience very pleasurable, from the midwives in the midwife led unit where I was in the clean and cheerful pool room, to the consultant unit where I went when I didn't progress. I eventually had a forceps delivery and my only complaint was that no one told me the extent of my episiotomy.
The midwives in the summerhill ward were particularly bright and friendly at all times, extremely knowledgeable and patient. I couldn't fault the care I had there. My baby also spent the night in the special care unit, and they too were so caring and friendly, and really helped me to get breast feeding going each time I went down that night to feed my baby.
They were all very busy people in each department and they still did their jobs with such a lovely manner, I just wanted to say thank you.
Please be confident that having a baby in Aberdeen is a nice experience. You might have to be a bit patient sometimes but that's busy hospitals for you.
