"Amazing Team"

About: Aberdeen Royal Infirmary / Emergency Medicine Aberdeen Royal Infirmary / Stroke Scottish Ambulance Service / Emergency Ambulance

(as a relative),

My husband was admitted to ward 305 after suffering a mild stroke recently.

The care he received form the moment that I called 999, to the time he was discharged was amazing.

The Paramedics were calm and reassuring, even though the probability of a stroke was high.  He was taken to A&E and immediately sent to CT scan, which confirmed his diagnosis. Dr Reid, the consultant, saw him very quickly and offered a lot of explanation but also reassurance, which we were very grateful for.

Once admitted to ward 305, all staff were so caring, helpful and friendly, even though they were dealing with a busy ward, with patients that required a great deal of their time, nothing was too much trouble and all care provided, was not just given with kindness, but with a much needed sense of humour, that my husband appreciated greatly.

Thank you all in ward 305 for making what was a really scary time much more tolerable, which was down to your professionalism and what can only be described as your genuine caring nature.

I wish I could remember all your names to thank you individually, but it has been such a whirlwind, it has been impossible to remember them all, but our heartfelt thanks go to the paramedics, the medical team, including the medical student, the registered nusing team, healthcare support workers and the student nurses, the physio and the speech therapist and last but not least the domestics.

Thank you.
