"I couldn't fault the service"

About: Fife Community Services / Rapid Cancer Diagnostic Service (RCDS) Queen Margaret Hospital / Radiology Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh at Little France / Xrays and scans

(as a staff member posting for a patient/service user),

I couldn’t fault the RCDS sevice. The best thing about it was the speed, it was all very quick and I was offered appointments for my scans at Queen Margaret and the Royal in Edinburgh. I didn’t enjoy the scans but the staff were great and I felt safe during the procedures.

Katie kept me well informed and was very professional and caring in all my contacts with her.

Luckily my results were all clear and I feel relieved.

I am now on a Wellbeing programme which advises me on good lifestytle practices, most of which is good common sense.

Overall I can’t suggest any improvements on the service other than that I received an email from the Royal regarding my appointments before I got the letter.

I feel the RCDS is first class!

Dear rcdsal

I am Murdina MacDonald and the lead nurse for cancer and the RCDS service. Can I first say how delighted I am for you that your results were all clear.

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback about your positive experience. We know that waiting for investigations to find out what is causing your symptoms can be a worrying time so by offering a rapid service we hope to reduce that worry. Having scan's can be quite a daunting experience and our staff recognise this and always aim to put our patients at ease so the teams will be delighted when I share with them that you felt safe during the procedures.

Katie will be happy that you felt well informed and I know your kind words will inspire her at work.

I am pleased to learn that you are participating in our wellbeing programme and I hope you will feel the benefits of the lifestyle practices you choose to focus on.

we will let patients know in the future that they may receive their electronic letter arrived before their postal letter.

Wishing you all the best.

Warm Regards

Murdina
