My 3 year old son had been poorly with a sore tummy and diarrhoea for a few days, along with being sick once almost daily, mostly within an hour of going to bed.
I phoned my GP surgery, Maryhill Health Centre, and was told to take him up for appointment that morning. My son was seen by a nurse practitioner called Jordan, who was very thorough in checking him over, doing the usual observations as well as examining his tummy and having a listen, assuring me that everything was normal in regards to his bowels and no apparent pain from when she was feeling his tummy.
As well as his observations being fine, my son was in good spirits during his appointment, so the nurse could have well just said that everything seemed fine, but she requested a urine sample just to rule out anything else.
I am so grateful to Jordan for being so thorough, as it turned out that my son had an E-coli infection, and she had phoned me with this result and explained everything clearly to me. She offered to call me back in a few days to see how my son was responding to the antibiotics, which she did and even reassured me that he was receiving the necessary dose, as I had been told by another parent that my son would probably require a longer dose.
Jordan had a lovely, friendly manner and was very good with my son. Thanks to her care, my son was soon much better after starting the antibiotics. I really could not thank her enough
