"The staff were professional and knowledgeable"

About: Victoria Hospital / Accident & Emergency Victoria Hospital / Medical High Dependency Victoria Hospital / Out of Hours

(as a parent/guardian),

My son became acutely unwell last weekend with diabetic ketoacidosis.

I wanted to thank everyone involved in getting him well again.

The out of hours GP who saw him was quick to arrange admission and the receptionist who was on duty was kind and so helpful to us both.

The paramedics who took my son to hospital were amazing.

The staff in A&E resus were professional and knowledgeable.

The staff in Medical HDU who cared for him until he was discharged were also professional and knowledgeable.

Everyone was kind, caring and supportive.

Thank you all so much.

Dear Craig70

First of all, thank you for posting and I hope your son is getting better after what must have been very scary for you all.

I am so happy to hear that staff across all those services were kind, caring and supportive and it demonstrates great partnership working with the patient at the centre.. They all work so hard to ensure that every patient gets the Right Care, Right Time so it is wonderful that you have taken the time to acknowledge the care your son received.

I shall be sure to share your feedback with all the staff involved and finally want to wish your son a very speedy recovery

Best Wishes

Olivia

Dear Craig70,

Thank you for taking the time to provide such valuable feedback on your family's experience of Out of hours. I am sorry to hear your son became so unwell, this must have been quite worrying for you all. I hope he is recovering well and feeling better.

I would be keen to share your feedback with the clinician involved from Out of hours and wonder if you could contact me at lynnette.marshall2@nhs.scot to provide a few details.

Take care and again, thank you.

Lynnette
