I had an abnormal smear back in 2019 and was referred to the city hospital for a coloscopy. I suffer from vaginismus so this makes any treatment difficult. I have an understanding doctor who prescribes diazepam before each visit. The gynaecologist and nursing staff were so understanding and sympathetic. It was decided that I should have the Letts procedure as a day procedure and was admitted to hospital. The support and care from the staff was excellent.
I’ve since had to have regular check ups at the Bradbury centre and every time I come I they are so understanding and patient. I appreciate the NHS gets a lot of criticism however my experience throughout all this has been exceptional. I feel safe in the knowledge that they aren’t just ticking boxing and are trying to ensure that any potential risk of cervical cancer is detected.
