"Attitude you would expect from angels"

About: Crosshouse Hospital / Combined Assessment Unit (CAU) Crosshouse Hospital / Respiratory medicine

(as a relative),

Over the last 12 months my husband has been in and out of the CAU department and each and every time he has had the greatest of care. The nurses and nursing assistants and the cleaning staff have all been excellent. They are kind, considerate and so caring, but not only for him but the way they were towards me.

They got me something to sleep on whilst I stayed with him because I stayed 24hours a day, they made sure my needs were taken care of from towels to shower with to food and drink. I am eternally grateful for all they have done. Even though at times they are stretched to the limit and stressed they still conduct themselves with the decorum and attitude you would expect from angels. Because that’s exactly what they all are angels.

I thank them from the bottom of my heart. They made me feel very special when they produced a cake for my birthday. Because of what was happening with my husband they still took the time to see if I was ok.

So the all the staff at the CAU department at Crosshouse Hospital I thank you and if there is anything I can do for you in the future please let me know , and I will be first in line to help.

Thank you xxxx

Dear Linda409

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience of the care provided within the Combined Assessment Unit at University Hospital Crosshouse.

It sounds as though this has been an anxious time for you and your husband, and I am delighted to hear that you both received such considerate, professional and compassionate care, from our staff.

It’s often the small things that can make such a difference, such as making sure you had somewhere comfortable to sleep, and providing you with meals and somewhere to take care of your personal needs, whilst you were staying with your husband. I’m also glad to hear that they were able to make your birthdays that wee bit better for you.

Our staff really appreciate receiving feedback from their patients and it will be my pleasure to share your kind comments with the wider Team in the Unit.

I do hope your husband is feeling better now and thank you once again for taking the time to acknowledge your care experience.

Kind Regards

Pamela
