"My annual visits to Clinical Intervention Unit"

About: Queen Margaret Hospital / Clinical Intervention Unit

(as a service user),

Each year I have a 3-day infusion at my local Clinical Intervention Unit. Today is day 3. I am needed each day as early as possible to get my infusion started as it runs for a full 6 hours.

I can't praise the staff in my local unit, highly enough. They go out of their way to talk me through each stage of the procedure and next steps. I feel like it's a partnership rather than something that is being 'done' to me. As I am there for such a long time each day, I also have the privilege of watching the staff work with a number of people for a whole variety of reasons. It's humbling to watch the level of care and dedication these professionals give on a daily basis.
