"Wonderful team at radiotherapy"

Been coming for radiotherapy for 7.5 weeks and this is my last treatment. All the staff in this department are wonderful. They are kind, understanding, smiling and always join in with the banter!

They know everyone’s Christian names which is very nice - could not ask for better. The atmosphere in the waiting room is good too - you get to know the other patients and it’s good to talk to them and listen to their stories.

If anything does go wrong (with the machines for instance) the reception staff keep you informed immediately and let you know what’s going on. Also they keep a close eye on patients’ drinking and make sure this is happening at the right time.

My only criticism would be the heating - it is usually very cold in the waiting room. Also car parking is a nightmare - just not enough spaces for all the cancer wards AND Accident & Emergency.

Dear Dylan1, my name is Bob, one of the Support Workers who would have welcomed you into our Radiotherapy Department. Thank you for taking the time to feedback your experiences. It is gratifying to hear that we, along with our Therapeutic Radiographers and Oncology Support Nurses have kept you informed and made your treatments as comfortable as we could. I will indeed pass on your kind words to the staff involved.

On the downside, I acknowledge that car parking is an ongoing issue and our Head of Department, Damian Parr continues to bring this matter to departmental meetings. You are also correct in saying that we had trouble with the heating in the waiting room during your treatment period. This has now been rectified; I am sorry though that it was not rectified during your treatment period with us.
