I had an appointment on 31st October- I am physically disabled and have an electric wheelchair- a member of staff assisted- sent me information on the ramps, threshold, door widths etc at my request.
I had already been waiting over 5 months for this appointment.
I phoned the week before to request a manual hoist to be told my appointment had been cancelled- I received no phone call or letter.
Allegedly the Consultant deemed it not appropriate to attend due to not living in London - how naive of them- given you can seek treatment anywhere within England.
Allegedly the cancellation was sent on a system to inform my Doctors Practice. I at no point was made aware of the cancellation and now because of this individual I have to wait again on the list to be seen - which will be 1 year.
The person that took this decision needs to have training - if I had attended- would have been costly to myself without any form of consultation due the cancellation.
