"Amazing care from the midwife"

About: Dr Gray's Hospital / Maternity care

(as a parent/guardian),

This was our 1st child. Naturally we have been quite clueless and relied on information and guidance provided by family and more so our midwife during pregnancy to keep us right. This has not been a smooth time either we had lots of issues. But our Midwife Julie has truly always gone above and beyond.

She set up the badger app and helped us keep track of all the info. I (husband) work nights and my schedule can be a bit all over the place and almost never matched the planned clinic days, but Julie was always willing to adjust her schedule so I could attend on a day off or in the morning after a shift so that mum to be was happy, and dad to be.

She helped a huge amount and even when she was on leave was willing to log on and help sort some paperwork for us, which was a huge help and really appreciated.

We had a few scans which didn't go to plan and every time she took action quickly and acted professionally so that additional checks or scans could be completed to reassure us and ensure baby was healthy.

Unfortunately  there were issues after the birth and we had to attend hospital in Elgin and while we were there she came to check on us which was a lovely gesture and really appreciated.

Julie frequently listened to our concerns and offered helpful information and arranged additional clinics with specialists or classes to really help us. She was always willing to reach out to other departments and colleagues to really ensure we received the best possible care. her level of care, compassion and professionalism made what could have been and started as a very scary time of our lives into an exciting one that we looked forward to and helped us become confident parents. I have no doubt that her ability and level of care is what shaped that.
