I had an appointment recently with a lovely podiatrist called Alina. Being type 1 diabetic, I can honestly say this appointment was the most informative and helpful I have ever had.
In the past years the NHS podiatrist has only ever felt for a pulse and done the sensory test for awareness of touch on my feet. Today however, I learned more in over 30 minutes than I have in my entire time as a diabetic.
Alina took the time to explain the necessary steps to help keep my feet in healthy order. Her knowledge on the subject was impressive, her manner respectful but kind, her helpful suggestions for improving muscles which were weak was gratefully received, and her suggestions for the kind of cream with urea for dry skin also made my day.
I have to say Alina was the best podiatrist I have ever seen and she deserves all the praise I can give her. I felt listened to, cared for, valued and respected. It’s not often you find someone who will take the time to explain good foot care and not just willing to do the bare minimum. Thank you, Alina.
I do hope you will pass this on to Alina and her bosses.
