"First midwife appointment"

About: The Princess Royal Maternity Unit / Maternity Outpatients

(as a service user),

I went to my first midwife appointment at the outpatient area in the Royal.

I was anxious about this appointment as this is my first baby and I have many health issues currently.

My appointment was 10 minutes late but I didn’t mind, the midwife greeted me with a smile and made feel comfortable. Her personality is made for the job!! I think her name was Erin or Ellen.

She managed to take some blood tests even though I have a fear of needles. Everything she done was explained fully to me and I left not feeling anxious or worried.

A brilliant experience all round.

I can now be excited for the rest of my pregnancy and future appointments.

Thanks again!

Dear matarmw57

First may I congratulate you on your pregnancy. I would like to thank you for taking the time to leave such lovely feedback about your first visit to the midwife. It was heart warming to read that you were made to feel well informed and supported during your visit.

I will pass on your kind words to the midwife who cared for you and I am sure that she will be delighted to know that you have left such warm and positive feedback about your experience.

May I take this opportunity to wish you well for the remainder of your pregnancy

Best Wishes

Elaine Drennan
