"Care that surpassed any level I thought possible"

(as a service user),

It's been a long year for me medically but I have to acknowledge the outstanding support I have had during this time. First person to thank is Mr Stokes, such a caring and thoughtful man, who in a very brief window of meeting me identified issues that I had been left to contend with by myself in the previous months, he and his teams fitted me in at clinics that I could manage. I will be forever grateful that I was so lucky to have met him.

I am moving on to the fracture clinic in Omagh, Dr Doohan and Dr Brown, you exemplify the care that should be available to everyone, you are both wonderful Doctors. To Mr Gibson, even though I have only been able to return to your team hearing you being able to say out loud the long term problems that I deal with was heartwarming to know that from Mr Stokes through Dr Doohan & Dr Brown you have all put in motion opportunities to try and find a way that I can live and have a quality of life that has been taken away from me. I know I can express enough in words my gratitude to all of you and my respect, thank you for everything you have and are doing for me.

I also have to acknowledge the nurses who work in the clinics,, to the radiography teams, and last but definitely not by least to the porters who have made it possible for me to attend my appointments. Finally thank you to an amazing physiotherapist who made me go back and finally end up Mr Stokes is Nessum, again without you supporting me through appointments and telephone contact I wouldn't be in the positive position I am today. I know that on the back of one horrible appointment I ended up with care that surpassed any level I thought possible. I hope you know I write this with total honesty and eternal gratitude.

My name is Michelle Hunter and I am the Sister of Causeway Outpatients department. Thank you so much for taking the time to write your heartfelt story. I will see Mr. Stokes later in the week when he is here for the fracture clinic. I will be sure to share your kind words with him and I know he will be very humbled by what you have said. The Nursing staff from the fracture clinic take great pride in the services we deliver and I know they will be delighted with your feedback.

Best wishes for the future

Regards

Michelle
